The Walter Dean Myers Award for Outstanding Children’s Literature, or “The Walters” as they are sometimes known, was announced recently on Instagram by We Need Diverse Books..
This award, begun in 2014, is named after acclaimed YA author Walter Dean Myers. It recognizes outstanding children’s and YA books by marginalized authors.
