Each month, of the school year, Seymour Headstart stops by the library for a story time and an introduction to twenty picture books. Each month a favorite is declared from each batch of twenty. Then at our final meeting the kids vote for their most favorite. Today there was a tie between Sailor Moo: Cow at Sea by Lisa Wheeler and Can I Play Too? by Mo Willems. After a tie breaker vote the winner was Can I Play Too? by Mo Willems!
I really love how the Headstart kids just don't hear stories but they are also introduced to a bunch of picture books as well. What a great way for kids to learn about a wide variety of books. And what a great way to excite them by having them vote for faves. Way to go MPL staffers!
