Battle of the Books for Librarians!

Now that ALA YMA's have been announced (and weren't they amazing!!), it's almost time for School Library Journal's Battle of the Kid's Books.

Hosted by commanders Monica Edinger, Roxanne Feldman and Jonathan Hunt, the battle pits 16 amazing titles from 2015 against each other. Like any good battle, the books are paired against each other in brackets. Authors and illustrators are handed the tough assignment to judge each pairing to determine a winner throughout the battle weeks and send that winner to the next bracket. The prize? A virtual gold medal and bragging rights.

In between, there is plenty of tongue-in-cheek action and chances for readers to chime in on Twitter, Facebook, blogs and more (The Peanut Gallery) and also a chance to vote in the Undead Poll for a book that you want to bring back from the dead to stay in contention.

Wednesday January 20 will be the big reveal for the titles to be considered; followed in the next few weeks with the judges, battle plan, brackets announced, followed by more excitement building before the battle launches March 7.  Here's the schedule:
