2017 Charlotte Zolotow Award Celebration

Carole Boston Weatherford will receive the 2017 Charlotte Zolotow Award for her picture book Freedom in Congo Square at an award ceremony on Saturday, March 4, 2-4 p.m., in the CCBC’s Elizabeth Burr Conference Room. Candace Fleming, author of the 2017 Zolotow Honor Book Giant Squid, will also be present to receive her honor citation. There will be a book signing after the event, with books for sale from A Room of One's Own.
The Charlotte Zolotow Award is given for outstanding writing in a picture book. The 2017 award ceremony will celebrate all of the books recognized by the 2017 award committee, which includes three honor books and 10 highly commended titles.
