For several years, stuffed animal sleepovers have been a popular program in many children's departments. The word is getting out that libraries like to host fun events but there's a solid reason behind why we do them - to develop a love of reading in children.
In CNN's article "After a night at the library, stuffed animals help kids read", a New Jersey library's sleepover is highlighted along with a study that researched the effectiveness of the program. Verdict: kids do read more to their stuffed animals after attending a sleepover! Give yourself a pat on the back!
