Toddler Tech

Emily Zorea is the Youth Services Librarian at the Brewer Public Library in Richland Center, WI. She shares her experiences on her blog Sowing Seeds Librarian.

One the programs she just posted about is Toddler Tech. It is a community event for families of children ages 0-5 and expectant parents. The event was hosted by the hospital but they wanted to hand over the reins to another group. Emily saw a great opportunity for the library and said yes.

Emily contacted multiple community groups that serve young children like dental offices, home educators, 3K and 4k programs, fire and police, and more. The groups set up a booth that included information for caregivers and an activity for children.  The event was on a Saturday.

The program was no cost to the library but it hit on all the important reasons we do this stuff - it brings families to the library and connects them with valuable resources at the library and in their community.
