Many of you are going to WAPL (May 2-4) near Milwaukee. Why not extend the fun, hop on the train, bus or car and head down to the Harold Washington Library in downtown Chicago to catch Rita Williams-Garcia's lecture on Friday evening at 7:30 pm?

Award-winning children’s and young adult author Rita Williams-Garcia will present the lecture, “Look Here. Not There.” on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The lecture, intended for educators, librarians, teachers, and other interested adults, will be held at the Chicago Public Library Harold Washington Library Center (400 S. State Street, Plymouth Court entrance). The event is free to attend, but advance registration is required at: chipublib.org/Sutherland
Rita Williams-Garcia has won multiple awards, including three Coretta Scott King Author Awards, the Scott O’Dell Award for Historical Fiction, and a Newbery Honor. Her most recent book, Clayton Byrd Goes Underground, is a National Book Award Finalist and a Chicago Public Library Best of the Best selection.
