Old Business

• Simple math program, completely free 

• Specific to Wisconsin

• Three different age levels

• Claire’s ideas for the social: 

• bring something from your library that is super popular, ie a kit of some kind, craft, toy, etc. 

• Book talk the book you would have picked for the Newbery while enjoying snacks  (not saying that I don’t think the Newbery winner is amazing, just a fun way to share favorites from the past year!)

• Bingo: because why not?! Prizes could be books from book sale piles or something simple like candy

• Overstock exchange! Bring in extra craft supplies, materials, etc. to share and exchange.

• Game Night 

• WLA Presents webinar series

• Social-Emotional Learning webinar rescheduled for March 2, 2023 

• Do not need to re-register 

• Teen webinar series being developed - Claire and Valerie

• Jenna will be reaching out to YA authors as part of a grant, so will send information about pricing that she gathers to Claire.

• Suggestion from Marge: Start thinking about WLA planning for 2024 as early as possible, which can make it easier to coordinate.

• Thoughts about getting children’s musician or other ideas other than authors

• Leadership Development Institute Schedule vs. our monthly meeting schedule

• Monthly meetings overlap

• LDI meetings will be recorded 

• Leah Langby and Jenna Gilles talking about organizing a statewide discussion on award winners.

• Alison L. will reach out to Tessa M-S to get her thoughts. 

• Tap big readers and librarians in our systems for blog posts about favorite and best books/award contenders
