Call for Lightning Round Programs Proposals - Power Up Virtual Conference

Many of you have heard over the years how valuable the national Power Up Conference is. A new twist to this in-person conference held biennially in Madison is a virtual conference planned for February 13-14, 2025. The same great content and the same great level of speakers will focus on youth librarians developing leadership, supporting your team and learning new skills.

Now you can attend the virtual conference from the comfort of your work place or home. The conference uses a sliding fee scale to make it accessible for more people. And with it's focus on youth-centered librarianship, this conference offers some of the best and most consistently excellent content to grow your leadership. You can check the keynote and program descriptions/schedule here.

There is now call for proposals for 5 minute lightning round mini-presentations to highlight a creative program you have done or are doing. Go ahead and shine a light on creative and innovative programming you are doing and send your proposal in today (deadline September 15)!

P.S. Conference registration will begin in October.

New for 2025! Virtual Power Up happening February 13-14, 2025. Join youth services managers and staff for two days of virtual learning. Sessions will focus on leveling up your leadership skills, best practices for serving your community, and how to best support your team.

Each concurrent session will be presented live, and recordings will be available to registered attendees. You can explore more about Power Up on its webpage, including the full conference schedule.
Do you have an innovative and creative program you can't stop talking about? Have a new approach to an old program? We want to hear about it! New this year for Power Up 2025 we are introducing Programming Lightning Talks.

Each presenter will give a 5-minute lightning talk about one of their current programs. Tell us what went great! What kind of impact did it have on your community? Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a 15 minute breakout Q&A session with you to learn more about your program.

Proposals are due September 15, 2024.
We hope to see you at Power Up 2025!

Take care,
The iSchool Continuing Education team
