I'm sure you've all heard the news about Baker and Taylor shutting down. Libraries have relied on B&T for decades to supply their books. When a supplier of this magnitude goes away, it leaves us all, libraries, publishers, and library users alike in a bind. Not only does this cause trouble moving forward, but we've also had to go back through all of our orders from this year to find what materials we've never received and having to find another place to purchase those items, and we are certainly not the only ones.

Marshall Breeding writes, for American Libraries, "This business closure represents an extraordinarily disruptive event for public libraries, which will have lost one of their major channels for acquiring materials. Many publishers will also have to scramble to establish arrangements with other distributors and risk losses of inventory held in B&T warehouses."
