A recent blog post from DPI's Tessa Michaelson Schmidt at the WI libraries for Everyone blog focuses on Reach Out and Read.
As Tessa writes: Reach Out and Read is a national nonprofit that champions the positive effects of reading daily and engaging in other language-rich activities with young children. Reading together promotes healthy brain development, furthers language acquisition, and helps families build meaningful bonds."
Noteworthy in the post is a heads-up on a great short webinar on how libraries can partner with local health care providers featuring Terry Ehle, YSS member and Children's Librarian at Lester Public Library in Two Rivers. In addition two short webinars will fill you in on the great work of Reach Out and Read.
