Will You Love YSS with Us?

For the past month, we've been running posts from members of the YSS board highlighting what YSS has meant to them. For many youth staff throughout the state, YSS has been an invigorating, supportive group of like-minded youth librarianship lovers.

YSSers create a sense of fun, of place, of innovation and creativity and a place to give back to the profession too. There is so much problem-solving, learning, sharing and leadership going on. That is what makes it so great.

Combine that with worthwhile "products" like conference programs, webinars presented by members in collaboration with library systems, the YSS blog, author and informational  programs, a chance to meet-up not just at conferences but virtually - and you can see how dynamic it is.

We know money is tight and hope you invest a little to be a WLA member. When you do, you can pick what sections and special interest groups you want to part of.

The graphic to the right was created by YSS' own Terry Ehle, a past YSS chair. It was made to highlight what the $50 membership cost at the base level (dues are $3 for every $1000 in annual wages with a minimum of $50) might equate to.

It also highlights an idea that some people use: asking for a membership as a holiday or birthday gift. There are lots of creative ways to approach those annual dues - and we hope you do.

In the meantime, we provide most of our programs and resources free for everyone. We hope you care enough about the value of these to support not just YSS but the larger Wisconsin Library Association through your membership

We're stronger together!
