Oceans of Possibilities—In Our Backyard
March 3, 2-3 pm
Water! A wonderous, fascinating, wet opportunity to explore literacy and have fun! Water also has a way of drawing us in and making us feel connected to our bodies (mostly water) and the earth (mostly water). This webinar will present oceans of possibilities in our own backyard, using the Great Lakes watershed as a summer inspiration, with a focus on programs for school-age kids. The one-hour presentation will include both Western and Indigenous approaches to learning about our watershed.
Anne Moser is senior special librarian at the Wisconsin Water Library at UW and has been presenting water-themed story times that integrate literacy, art, music, and science to children ages 3 through young adult since 2008. She is honored to co-present with Jenny Van Sickle, Alaskan Native and outreach specialist with the Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Commission.
