The PBS KIDS Community Learning Cohort is an exciting opportunity that blends professional development, hands-on learning, peer-to-peer connection, and program implementation into one dynamic series!
By participating in this cohort librarians will…
LEARN about high-quality, ready-to-use, educational media from PBS KIDS and gain confidence implementing these resources into your practice. One previous cohort member shared: “The PBS Cohort Program gave me the bones of how to put together a multifaceted program with a start, middle and end that kids and adults enjoyed together.”
Become TRAINED in media literacy skills, how to integrate digital media resources into hands-on programming, and how to build family engagement connections. One previous cohort member shared: “Planning was made so easy and being able to share ideas and "play" when we met was beneficial. Sharing ideas is a wealth of information, the different points of view and programming ideas were so wonderful. PBS is an amazing resource.”
MAKE new friends and connections to library staff and communities across Wisconsin. One previous cohort member shared: “It's easy to not make connections with other librarians around the state because we are usually heads down and focused on our own work. It was nice to hear what other libraries are working on and know that what is most important is that we're designing a program that creates a positive experience for our patrons and staff.”
Cohort participants will receive a stipend to cover program costs or staff time. Complete this application form by FEBRUARY 18, 2022.
There are limited spots so be sure to apply soon! Please feel free to reach out to Mouna Algahaithi, PBS Wisconsin Education’s Early Learning Engagement Specialist at mouna.algahaithi@pbswisconsin.
