This is a message from the CCBC in honor of KT Horning's retirement. She was feted at a retirement party yesterday, July 12, Many of us couldn't be there - but there is still a way to honor her from wherever we are through a donation (that will be matched by the Milkey Family Foundation). It's one way to thank KT while helping to support the future health of the CCBC.

When KT Horning wandered into the Cooperative Children’s Book Center as an undergraduate student, she didn’t know she would find a professional home.
She made it hers, and made it welcoming to students, teachers, librarians, parents and all who have a love for children’s and young adult books.
After 40 years, KT is retiring.
To help honor and celebrate her magnificent career, the Milkey Family Foundation established the KT Horning Directorship for the Cooperative Children’s Book Center. The foundation will match every gift to the fund up to $500,000.
This is more than a celebration of the past. KT herself said her dream for the CCBC is to come back and see something she never imagined. This fund will allow CCBC directors, like Tessa Michaelson Schmidt, to continue innovating how children’s books are researched and studied.
