L.E. Phillips Memorial Library - Youth Services Library Assistant (part time)

The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, seeks an enthusiastic, creative, organized team member who enjoys interacting with people of all ages, particularly children and their caregivers.  This Assistant position provides reference and reader’s advisory for the youth services division, assists with children’s programs, with direction, promotes library services through displays and bulletin boards, helps with division organization and communication through statistical tracking and so much more. This is a part-time position, working 19 hours per week. The 2022 starting wage is $18.41 per hour. The proposed schedule includes every other weekend, one evening per week and daytime hours. For consideration, interested applicants must submit a completed library employment application, resume and cover letter. Matheson Memorial Library (Elkhorn) – Youth Services Associate (part time)

Do you enjoy working with young children and their families? We are looking for a part-time (20 hrs. a week) youth services associate to work five days a week during school hours staffing the youth services desk, visiting local schools and daycares, and offering family storytime programs. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, between 9am and 2pm. This position will be responsible for maintaining our circulating toy and maker kit collection, offering reader’s advisory and family-oriented reference services at the youth services desk during our busy morning shifts, and taking storytimes and outreach programs to local schools. Experience working with young children is required and preferred experience includes familiarity with children’s literature, early literacy, promoting children’s literacy, and child development. Starting pay is $16 / hour. Paid holidays and prorated benefits are included. High school diploma or GED required, and College degree, BA/BS is desired. Students currently enrolled in college pursuing a graduate degree (MLIS or other) are encouraged to apply.
