Carnegie-Schadde Memorial (Baraboo) Public Library  - Programming & Outreach Librarian (full-time)

 

The Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library is located in Baraboo, WI, about 45 minutes from Madison, WI.  We serve a growing community of 15,000 and enjoy excellent support from the public we serve.  We are currently undergoing a building expansion and renovation to double the size of our library and renovate the existing historic building. We look forward to enjoying this modern, spacious, and comfortable facility by the end of 2023. We currently have a staff of 4 full-time librarians and 12 part-time library assistants and support staff. We have reorganized our departments and staffing structure to keep up with growing demand and to staff our new facility. 

 

Overview:  

The Programming & Outreach Librarian oversees the operation of the Programming & Outreach Department.  Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and managing programs and outreach to community members of all ages, supervising Programming & Outreach Department staff, and serving as a member of the library management team. This is a new position and department, so you will have opportunity to help us mold the position and department into the best it can be.

This is a full time, exempt, benefits eligible position. Work schedule is subject to change but typically includes flexible hours Monday-Friday with some evenings and weekends required. This position is grade H ($45,905- $56,562 annually) on our pay scale, and there are step increases for positive annual evaluations. Perks include a casual work environment and a friendly team atmosphere.  

 

Requirements:  

To be considered for this role, candidates must have MLS degree or equivalent, minimum 2 years of library experience, general computer/office skills, and current driver’s license.  Preferred qualifications include previous experience in programming/outreach in a public library, and supervisory experience. Top candidates will have a passion for literacy, a congenial and professional demeanor, and be confident learning technology and using social media.
