What a year it’s been! As I reflect back on my time as Chair, I definitely have things I wish I would have had time to implement and emails I wish I would have sent earlier, but I overwhelmingly just feel incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to lead this dedicated, funny, charming, talented group.
So I’d like to give a huge THANK YOU to all of the wonderful YSS Board members! We truly can’t do it without all our members stepping up and contributing, and this group did a wonderful job. A special shout out goes to Taylor Wilcox, Melissa Carollo, and Jenny Wegener, who have fulfilled their terms.
We as a board are so grateful to our YSS members who provide feedback for and support to all the work this section does. We collected many ideas from you at the annual conference for the work we can tackle in the coming year. We are our best resource and support system and YSS is privileged to be the platform to share the extensive knowledge the fantastic library staff serving youth have to offer in this state!
There is one non-mushy thing to share as well: the 2023 Board will be meeting to set their yearly goals in late January with a regional meet-up at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library taking place in the afternoon. Additional details will be shared on the blog and emailed out. We hope you can join us to kick start the year!
Thank you again for the wonderful privilege of serving as your YSS Chair.
Cheers,
Claire
2022 YSS Chair
