I deal with a lot of middle schoolers basically every day, and I often ask them if they have any programs they would like to do. One of them, very enthusiastically, said snow globes. I thought that would be a great idea, so I planned it. The program itself was simple to prepare. We had a lot of leftover mason jars, so I didn't have to buy too many, and we have a TON of glitter and glycerin. I was able to purchase mini figurines- everyone loved the penguins I got. I also gave them the option to put stickers and ribbon on their snow globes.
Our one hour program had 83 people come to it and the room was full. Luckily, our patrons were very gracious and waited their turns when picking out supplies and using the hot glue guns. I was the only one working the craft, so it was pretty hectic at the beginning. However, it all worked out great and we had a lot of cool snow globes being made. Attached is a photo of the snow globe I made for an example. I think it is adorable and I keep it at my desk.
