Black Creek Village Library Youth Programming Specialist/Clerk (part-time)
The Black Creek Village Library is currently seeking a Library Services Clerk and Youth Programming Specialist. The position is approximately 25-28 hours per week with a starting wage of $14.50.
The Library Services Clerk and Youth Programming Specialist is responsible for frontline customer service to patrons in a fast-paced library environment, including reference and circulation activities, while working to complete routine duties as assigned. In addition, the specialist plans, implements, and promotes library programs for youth.
Qualifications
- College degree in a related field preferred, a high school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with children required
- Technological proficiency required
- Customer service experience preferred
- Library experience preferred
- Programming experience preferred
- Marketing and social media experience preferred

West Allis Public Library Teen Services Librarian (part-time)
The West Allis Public Library is recruiting a Part-Time Teen Services Librarian. West Allis PL is a member of the Milwaukee County Federated Library System and proudly serves a diverse, forward-thinking community of 60,000.
Do you live and breathe community engagement? Are you a Librarian in need of a more flexible work schedule? We are hiring a part-time Librarian full of creativity and passion for Teen Library services.
With a detail-oriented mindset, you will create thoughtful programming and promotional materials. You lead the charge behind-the-scenes and front-and-center – as an expert in reference work, and a pro in conducting library tours and orientation programs.
The Teen Librarian may occasionally work with Adult Services as well.

- Performs reference work, Reader's Advisory, collection maintenance, and prepares booklists
- Creates, communicates, publicizes, and presents programs
- Conducts library tours and orientation programs of the library system, its facilities, and resources
- Participates in the selection of new library books and materials
- Consults standard bibliographies to verify author, title, and related information to identify new books for purchase and books received by purchase or gift
- Catalogs and classifies books and other library materials including the use of an automated cataloging service (OCLC)
- Experience in the use of library facilities and resources including automated library systems and online databases
This position requires emotional intelligence, work ethic, accountability and initiative to effectively perform the duties.
Education, Training and Experience:
Master's Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited library school required.
Recent professional paid work experience as a Librarian or Library Assistant highly desirable.
Proficient in the use of office computers and various software packages including, but not limited to, Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Outlook, Calendaring) etc.; some recent experience utilizing online databases.
