Elm Grove Public Library     Youth Services Librarian    (part-time)
The Elm Grove Public Library is accepting applications for the position of part-time Youth Services Librarian. Elm Grove is a beautiful village in eastern Waukesha County, with a lovely park, pond and walking trails immediately outside the library’s front door. The library is known for its strong customer-service focus and community relationships.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with developing and providing youth library programs and services; assisting with youth department collection maintenance; and providing reference, computer assistance and readers’ advisory services at the reference desk.
This position is 12 hours per week plus one eight-hour Saturday approximately every six weeks. This would be an ideal position for a new librarian or for an experienced librarian who has the desire to work specifically in a part-time role.

Master of Library Science degree from an accredited program is required. Previous youth services and public library experience desired. A successful applicant will be required to undergo a drug screening and a background check. Greenfield Public Library.  Children’s Librarian ( part-time)
The Greenfield Public Library in Greenfield, WI, is seeking a full-time children’s Librarian to work in a robust and active department that is dynamic, creative, organized, tech-savvy, and community-minded. The ideal candidate will work well independently and collaboratively, have comprehensive knowledge of children’s literature, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The Children’s Librarian reports to the Youth Services Manager and is responsible for providing library services to children and families in and outside of the library. This position provides excellent customer service to library patrons, assists patrons and staff in meeting their reference and information needs, plans and conducts programs with a focus on children and their caregivers, promotes youth services to the community, manages assigned library collections, participates in the day-to-day operation of the library and administers other library services as assigned.

Required Education/Training and Experience

* Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
* One (1) year of experience in library operations is required (public library experience preferred). Experience, knowledge, or training related to youth services preferred.
* Excellent communication, project management skills, and strong customer service skills are required.

The Greenfield Public Library reserves the right to utilize equivalencies where deemed appropriate regarding education and experience requirements and may consider combinations of education and experience likely to lead to success with essential duties and responsibilities.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Ability to work 40 hours per week, including evenings, and a rotating Saturday and Sunday schedule. Flexibility in scheduling is required.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.89-$26.28. The City of Greenfield provides excellent benefits, including health insurance, vacation, paid holidays, and enrollment in the Wisconsin Retirement System.

L.E. Phillips (Eau Claire) Memorial Public Library         Youth Services Assistant (part-time)
The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, seeks an enthusiastic, creative, organized team member who enjoys interacting with people of all ages, particularly children and their caregivers. This Assistant position provides reference and reader’s advisory for the youth services division, assists with children’s programs, promotes library services through displays and bulletin boards, helps with division organization and communication through statistical tracking and so much more.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position, averaging 19 hours per week. The 2024 starting wage is $19.35 per hour and includes paid floating holiday. The proposed schedule includes a variety of daytime and afternoon hours, a regular weekly evening shift and rotating Saturdays.

The McIntosh Memorial Library in Viroqua, Wisconsin is hiring a full-time Youth Services Director and a part-time Manager for the After School Program.
