Woohoo! Here comes the youth library services "Oscars" time. You don't need to be attending the conference in Phoenix to wait for what favorite books or media received the nod from the hardworking committees. Just tune into the livestream or the ALA Facebook page to see the drama and excitement unfold.
Each year the American Library Association (ALA) honors books, videos, and other outstanding materials for children and teens.
Recognized worldwide for the high quality they represent, the ALA Youth Media Awards (YMA), including the prestigious Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, and Coretta Scott King Book Awards, guide parents, educators, librarians, and others in selecting the best materials for youth.
Selected by committees composed of librarians and other literature and media experts, the awards encourage original and creative work in the field of children’s and young adult literature and media.
The 2025 Youth Media Award announcements will take place on Monday, Jan. 27th at 9:00 a.m. CT during ALA's LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience conference in Phoenix.
Those not in Phoenix for LibLearnX can watch a livestream of the award announcements, which will also be available on the American Library Association Facebook page.
