CSLP Final Theme and Slogan Survey

  • The Collaborative Summer Library Program is currently collecting final feedback for the summer 2028 slogan (theme: Mythical Creatures) and the summer 2029 theme (to be determined -- by YOU!). Results will be compiled and shared with state reps and the CSLP Theme & Slogan Committee. These are the finalists, and now is your chance to give feedback before the official vote at the beginning of August.
  • The survey is open through Sunday, July 29th.

Talking Teen Services: Strengths-Based Relationship Building Panel

  • Wednesday July 16, 2025 @ 2:30 pm - 3:45 pm CDT
  • Curious about strategies for building meaningful relationships with tweens and teens that support positive interactions in developmentally appropriate ways? Join the Colorado State Library for a panel discussion about strengths-based relationship building in teen and tween services. Panelists from several different Colorado public libraries will share their experiences including how they approach connecting with teens and tweens in both the fun and the challenging moments, ways they communicate with colleagues and patrons about how to do the same, and why they’re ok with being considered “cool but not that cool” in their communities of teens.
  • This panel discussion is part of the Colorado State Library’s Talking Teen Services series and will be recorded. It will be a 75-minute program and will include time for you to ask the panelists your own questions towards the end of the discussion.
  • Registration and more information.

Book Drop in Your Library - STAR Net Webinar Series

  • Join STAR Net and Twin Cities PBS for Book Drop, an exciting new children’s series that blends storytelling, animation, and real-world STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) to engage curious minds ages 4–8. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the series is designed to ignite a passion for problem-solving and scientific thinking through the power of books and imagination.
  • This online workshop will be offered at different times over the summer (you only need to register for one). Participants will learn best practices on engaging youth in STEM through watching media and doing hands-on activities in their library programs. Attendees will receive the Book Drop Educator Guide and library kits that include materials to do the Book Drop activities and copies of the books featured in the show! Attendees agree to participate in brief evaluation surveys post-training and post-implementation.
  • Register for July 24th at 12:00 p.m.
  • Register for August 14th at 2:00 p.m.

Save the Date - CSLP Annual Survey opens on Monday, July 14th

  • The Collaborative Summer Library Program survey opens next Monday. The audience for the survey is public library staff who played an active role in administering or running 2025 summer library programming. The survey  is not required, but we would appreciate your input.  Every library that responds helps us get a more accurate picture of overall satisfaction with the program.
  • I will send out the survey link early Monday morning on July 14th.

Have a great weekend!
