Library staff serving teens and their families can always use additional resources. In these uncertain times, the need for solid, research based information is critical. A new to me, valuable resource is the Center for Parent and Teen Communication, which "offers practical, science-based strategies for strengthening family connections and building youth prepared to thrive. Established in 2017, Center for Parent and Teen Communication is a multidisciplinary team based within the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia."
One hundred word parenting tips, relevant articles, e-newsletters, and a Facebook page make sharing tips and content easy. Relevant articles like "Be a Model for Navigating Uncertainty" offer advice helpful to caring adults with teens in their lives, but could apply to library staff you manage, too.
What resources have you found for helping parents and caring adults navigate the teen years? We'd love to hear what you and your community are finding valuable.
