What does your desk look like? Are you a tidy desk person, with everything in its place? Does it look like something exploded all over it? No matter what it looks like, I'm sure there are things at your desk that you'd consider necessary for your daily library life. In a blog post for ALSC (Association for Library Service to Children) Jessica Tarnowski lists their 7 must haves at their desk. They say, "I've learned to keep a few 'lifesavers' close by. These little things have rescued me more times than I can count." Their list includes things like tape and scissors, stickers, and colorful pens. Nothing Earth shattering, but still something they consider necessary.

- A variety of fidgets. From my clicky coffee cup to my infinity cube, my fidgets are a daily must.
- My capybara collection. Who doesn't love a capybara? They make me, and the kids who see them smile.
- A stash of nice lotion and chapstick. Winter is brutal on the skin in Wisconsin, and I must apply these both multiple times daily!
- Photos. I have photos of my dog, my husband, library kids, coworkers, friends. Pretty much any photo that makes me happy is a good desk addition in my eyes.
