Present: Anne Hamland, Emily Sanders, Katherine Schoofs, Katie Kiekhaefer, Sarah Cournoyer, Tessa Schmidt, Susie Menk

Approve Agenda

Call to order at 1:18 pm due to issues with meeting software. 

No corrections to minutes

Katherine motioned to approve minutes.  Emily seconded.

Old Business:

Regional Meet-ups Update - Claire (not present)

●       Get sign up sheets from Caitlin Schaffer

●       Possible meet up in Oshkosh

●       January meet up do a repeat of WLA program

Marketing Committee - Sarah/Anne

●       Anne-keeping up with monthly emails & Facebook page

●       New board member feature in September

●       August will feature YSS luncheon speaker Miranda Paul

Public/School Libraries Group - Katie

●       This group will beet again soon

●       Having a separate booth at WLA but near YSS booth

WLA Board Liaison Report - Sue (not present)

●       No report

YSS Elections - Sarah and Katie

●       Update duties page

●       September get to know YSS newly elected members

●       WLA timelines got move up

YSS Powerhouse Presents - Katie

●       Contacted Hannah at WLA

●       WLA will be tech support for YSS Powerhouse

●       WLA leadership meetings are priority

●       Schedule YSS Powerhouse far out

●       Use Vimeo & store in Dropbox

●       Schedule ahead and do lots of promoting

●       Archives of presentations --available to members only? Check on this

2020 YSS Luncheon Speaker - Katie

●       Miranda Paul for this year

●       In contact with Maris about having Michael Dahl for 2020

●       Dahl would be free of charge

●       Working on logistics

●       Follow up with WLA about changes to budget for the following year 2021

WLA Conference Updates - All

●       In need of room monitors & volunteers

●       Social will be on Wednesday evening

●       Doing book art, button maker, book bags

●       Looking for donations of old books

●       Booths for conference--Bingo, do something with CCBC and School libraries

●       #YSS Patronus for theme--pose with book and make YSS your Patronus

2019 Youth Services Institute - Tessa

●       Coming up on Sunday

●       Anne, Emily and Tessa will be there

●       25 new staff going this year

New Business:

YSS Budget for 2020 - Katie

●       Looking to request $200 for packet materials

●       Put packet materials in PDF format and share online

●       Blog post on conference then QR code it
