Penguin Random House Extends Story Time Temporary Open License to December 31st, 2021

Attention all library staff serving youth who plan to offer virtual story times into Autumn 2021!

With the uncertainty around school full or partial closings, we have extended the Penguin Random House Story Time Temporary Open License until December 31, 2021. We are heartened by the role that books and reading is playing to help connect us when we are physically apart. Please continue to share our books and stories with students and readers everywhere.

Details about the extension and some clarifications around the Open License have been made. You’ll find all the details HERE.

Thank you for your shared commitment to storytelling and reading, and to our collective belief in the power of books to connect us—especially during times like these.

Best,

Story Time Temporary Permissions

Here is a great article about copyright and storytime during the pandemic. It was created as part of a UW Madison research project: https://librarymuseumlearning.wiscweb.wisc.edu/2021/04/03/navigating-copyright-permissions-during-the-pandemic/
