Kewaunee Public Library

Youth Services Library Assistant (part time)

Are you looking for a fun job where your focus is helping people in your community and getting children and adults excited about reading and the library? Does working a flexible 24 hours a week fit in your current schedule? We are seeking a tech savvy, customer-focused, and self-motivated individual to join our team that serves the community of Kewaunee and Kewaunee County. Applicant must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be comfortable helping people of all ages in a group or one-on-one setting. Candidates with work experience in youth services settings, library, customer service, or technology are preferred. On the fly tech instruction is a frequent part of the job, so the qualified applicant must be comfortable using and troubleshooting a wide range of technology. Attention to detail and organization is key. Providing high quality early literacy learning experiences is the goal. The Position is 24 hours a week. Graham Public Library (Union Grove )

Youth Services Librarian (full-time)

The Graham Public Library in Union Grove, WI is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and dynamic Youth Services Librarian. The Youth Services Librarian will be responsible for developing and implementing services, programming, and outreach; and managing the youth collection, for children from birth to age 18, as well as their caregivers. The ideal candidate will be reliable, compassionate, tech savvy, adaptable to changing priorities and library practices, and work well independently and as part of our friendly team. Exceptional customer service and communication skills are a must.

Requirements

MLS or MLIS form an ALA-accredited institution, with emphasis on youth services is highly preferred (A Master’s in a related field may be substituted)

Experience serving youth in a library or school setting

Knowledge of children’s literature and storytelling techniques

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Wage & Benefits

This is a 37.5 hour per week, full-time, non-exempt position. Starting wage is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance; participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System; and paid sick, personal, holiday, and vacation leave.

Barrett Public Library (Williams Bay) 

Youth Services Librarian

Imagine this: you’re preparing for tomorrow’s story time program while working the checkout desk. It’s 3pm and you hear the familiar squeal of a school bus coming to a stop. You know in just two minutes the library door will open, tween-agers will rush in and the next two hours will be energy-filled. Are you up for the challenge? Do you enjoy the energy of young people? Can you handle their unique needs, and the occasional pushing of boundaries? 

Barrett Memorial Library is seeking a Youth Services Librarian. The ideal candidate will match the energy and enthusiasm of our beautiful lakeside community in southeast WI and bring an innovative spirit to the Youth Services Department. Ideal candidates have a passion for creating learning experiences for children from birth through 8th grade. This forward-thinking, creative, and adaptable coordinator will promote a love of learning and reading, and help foster future success among the children and teens they encounter in our library.

This is a 30+ hours/week position with benefits. Salary: $17.00+ depending on experience.
