Last week, a coworker and I did a "Geology Exploration" event for the Wisconsin Science Festival. We wanted to have multiple things for people to do at the event and have a little something for everyone who came.
Stations included a marble run, a matching game where you matched the rock to its name, a light table, sandboxes to dig for rocks, and a break-your-own geode station, which was probably the crowd favorite. People also enjoyed the grow your own crystal take-and-make kits we provided.
The event ran from 5-7 pm and multiple families and individuals stayed for almost the whole time. We had about 40 people come to the event and everyone from adults to two-year-olds had a fun time.
