Propose a Youth Program for WLA Fall Conference

WAPL Conference registration has just opened! And while it's too late to get a program proposal in, there is still time to pitch a children's, teen or general youth program for the fall conference in Lake Geneva.

We are huge advocates here for getting our YSS members to create awesome youth program content for our state conferences. Who knows better than YOU how to create valuable programs (virtual, in-person and outreach); how to take service to the next level; how to create strong partnerships on behalf of youth; how to create fun experiences for kids and families; how to create an amazing collection; how to be a great leader and project manager - and so much more.

So share your ideas and expertise! If you are not too sure about solo presenting, then fill in the handy-dandy form at our YSS blog (located under the board member's names on the right hand side of the blog and titled: Conference Collaboration Interest Form). Our helpful board will connect you with someone who can co-present with you!

So go for it! We want to hear your cool stuff! Details on deadlines below:


WLA Conference Accepting Program Proposals

The Wisconsin Library Association Annual Conference Programming Committee seeks proposals for   the next conference to be held November 1-4, 2022 at the Grand Geneva Hotel in Lake Geneva.

 The theme for this year’s conference is “Rising to the Challenge.'' Libraries are encouraged to share   practical strategies and inspiring projects from their corner of the library world. Proposals for   presentations, panels, and workshops are welcome.

Sessions will run 45 minutes in length (with a limited number of 90 minutes sessions available) and with a maximum of four presenters. Submit your proposal by Monday, April 25.

Nancy Pearl is coming to Northwest Wisconsin Children’s Book Conference. You may have heard her on Public Radio, you may have read her books, Book Lust and Book Crush. You may own the Nancy Pearl action figure. Here’s your chance to see and hear Nancy Pearl in person. Dates for this premium {or not to be missed} event are October 2nd and 3rd at the peak of fall color in Cable Wisconsin. The setting is Telemark Resort and Conference Center.
