improving ebooks
So electronic book readers are improving, even since we alerted you to books for phones. Has anyone gotten the new Kindle? What do you think? Can you compare it to the first model?
What about other new readers?

Hi.
I am an MLIS student and work at Borders, where we have sold the Sony Reader for the past 3 years.
The newest model really beats the Kindle (too bad Sony didn't get one to Oprah). With nice backlit pages and choices of text size improved, and the speed is a little faster.
I have had a lot of customers tell me they "have to have" the book experience - the feel, the smell, the taste - of a book!
On the other hand, one of the women I work with loves hers, because she can take 10 books with her on re-enactments, and read it at night.
I personally don't like e book readers, they don't keep up with a fast reader, in my opinion, and, of course, it doesn't feel like a book or smell like a book.
Maybe it's because I spend a lot of time looking at my computer screen, doing research.
Have a great day! No "book burnings" in West Bend!
My husband read an article in Forbes (I think--I can't remember which mag now...) that rated the Sony better than the Kindle. This was before the second Kindle came out, though, so it's good to hear your take on it, Kent!
