Many youth librarians use Scholastic book sales to add to their collection of books to give away to kids as incentives, prizes and "You've-done-good!"s. They offer stock they are cycling out of their book fairs in May and December.
This year there are May sales in Green Bay, Milwaukee, DeForest, Oshkosh and Hudson. The sales are free but you are asked to register (which gets you a coupon!). Be sure to bring your tax-exempt number card (or letter from your municipality) and your credit card or check. They'll provide the books (and boxes) to tote home to your community.
