Teens, Trauma and the Library

Julie is a long-time blogger who blogs infrequently but each and every post is a powerful statement that addresses an issue in youth librarianship. And these posts truly speak truth to power. When last we heard from her (July 2022,), Julie was reminding us all of how damaging white privilege is.

In her latest post, Teens, Trauma and the Future of Libraries [Hi Miss Julie blog . November 30, 2022] Julie takes on our responsibilities in truly serving teens in the midst of a pandemic. She rightly points out how much libraries welcome children but then often abandon teens (especially now in the midst of and post-pandemic when teens are struggling) at their and libraries' peril.

This powerful piece should be a must-read for all library workers and administration.
