The CDC just published holiday guidelines for communities experiencing various degrees of COVID-19 infections. It arrives in time for all of us to consider how we might be doing Halloween, Day of the Dead, Thanksgiving and other large celebrations.
For Halloween, another super resource is a new website provided by a number of businesses in the Halloween game (Hershey's, costume associations and more). What's in it?
The site provides a link to the Harvard Global Health Institute interactive map of COVID cases around the US. By hovering over a county, one can find a color-coded risk level. The map stays current so as risks change for any particular county, the map reflects the current situation.
Below the map are lots of suggestions of safe ways to celebrate Halloween depending on whether the county's risk is green, yellow, orange or red. Each category has great ideas for families and communities (and libraries) to try. This well thought out resource, provided in plenty of time to plan Halloween fun, will be much appreciated!
